Shhhhhh! Speak only in whispers when you mention songbird Shakira's Miami Beach home that's unofficially on the market for $13 million.
We know this because Miami realtor Robin Kluge sent a client to check out the house, a white contemporary on Biscayne Bay at 3140 North Bay Road.
So far, we haven't been able to find out who's representing the "whisper listing," so we called Kluge because you must "know someone, who knows someone, who knows it's for sale," she says.
Reports say Shakira bought the property through an LLC in September 2001 for $3.38 million. She tried to rent it for $45,000 a month in 2013, then tried to sell it for $12.99 million in 2013. The listing was removed in March, and now it's on the you've-got-to-know-someone market for about the same price.
According to a past Zillow listing, the waterfront house has six bedrooms, nine baths, a pool and a private dock. Pictures show a metal gate guarding a motor court with a bougainvillea-trimmed, two-car garage.
North Bay Road is one of Miami Beach's swankiest locations, current or former home to Matt Damon, Cher, Billy Joel and Jennifer Lopez.
Speaking of the fabulous La Lopez, her former house at 5800 North Bay Road is on the market for $40 million (which makes Shakira's look like a bargain). The totally renovated, 12,100 square-foot house has killer views of Biscayne Bay and the Miami skyline -- the Miami Beach money shot, says listing agent Nelson Gonzalez who, by the way, says he was the listing agent for Shakira's house in 2001.
