Rosie O'Donnell was honored this month at the Tony Awards for her work with New York City public school kids through Rosie's Theater Kids, an arts education program. And she recently made a move on behalf of her kids, leaving her beloved Nyack, New York, compound and buying a home in Saddle River, New Jersey, where she and her wife, Michelle Rounds, decided to move for schools that are better suited for her son's "learning stuff."
O'Donnell just officially listed her riverfront compound in Nyack, a tiny hamlet where she lived for nearly 20 years. O'Donnell collected four adjacent properties along the Hudson River in Nyack between 2002 and 2008, property records show. She owns 1 Washington Ave, 2 Washington Ave, 4 Washington Ave, and 5 Washington Ave. Each has a home on it, according to public records. (See them all in the slideshow below.)
The biggest is a 1900 Dutch Colonial at 1 Washington Ave., with four bedrooms, three baths and a wraparound porch. It is listed for $2.5 million.
She also owns the riverfront lot next door, at 2 Washington Ave. -- a completely remodeled 1918 three-bedroom, three-bath home facing the Hudson River, with a dock and riverfront. It is listed for $2.2 million.
O'Donnell owns two other, more modest homes behind her riverfront lots: 4 Washington Ave., listed for $600,000, has a one-bedroom, one-bath cabin on it, with river views and a wrap-around deck. And her home at 5 Washington Ave. is listed for $850,000. It has a secluded three-bedroom contemporary home with lots of windows.
