It's a curious time for Ethan Hawke to be putting his New York City townhouse up for sale. His Off-Broadway show "Clive," which he directs and stars in, has just gotten off the ground, beginning performances only last week. "Clive" is scheduled to officially open Feb. 7, yet Hawke is looking for a buyer to pay a whopping $6.25 million for his home. Ready to move because you're not smelling a Tony-winner here, Ethan?
Whatever the case, Hawke stands to turn a sizable profit from the sale of his 3,500-square-foot, six-bedroom, four-bathroom home. According to The Real Estalker, he purchased the place for $3 million back in 2005. The four-story townhouse in the celebrity-studded Manhattan neighborhood of Chelsea has two units: one is on the ground floor and the other is a trilevel on the remaining floors above. Let's take a closer look, shall we?The ground floor unit has a private entrance leading to a 14-foot living room with wood-burning fireplace, two bedrooms, a kitchen and a patio that overlooks a charming garden. But the trilevel unit is where it's at: three floors of beauty, with a parlor floor that has a spacious living room and retro kitchen with yellow cabinetry and a red refrigerator. (It's not as bad as it sounds.) Two more levels in the trilevel unit contain four more bedrooms -- but the master suite takes up the entire top floor, with an adjoining dressing room, bathroom with claw-footed tub and a private terrace.
